UK I was sitting on the rails in the Italian Gardens in Kensington Gardens on Sunday. It was pure chance that I was there having got off the tube at Lancaster Gate & was heading down to Notting Hill Gate. The sun was spectacular & warm on my face, the shadows falling & a swan & a few ducks tried their luck for a few snacks in the pond. As I turned to look down the path behind me I noticed a very elegant (Japanese?) woman walking down the path. I noticed her tailored coat that was cut from fine cloth. As I was admiring her, she stopped to meet two men. One man attempted to offer her used tissue from his pocket & the other none or similar. This led to my offering of a clean unsued tissue that I had picked up from my hotel the evening before. The Asian-looking man came down & took the tissue while the white/bald man thanked me for being kind. Now this is the bit that threw me...he asked if I would like a coffee. My puzzlement was that of a rubrics cube face, not for any other reason than I 1) hadn't had much sleep, 2) I had only recently contemplated a coffee but had decided it was too late/& maybe too expensive though I later went for red wine on my own in a nearby public house. 3) No one ever asks me out.. its true, but I have been single for so long it strikes me as very odd when someone might actually ask. Its a question very unfamiliar to me i had to hear it again..so by the time I was digesting the question, contemplating or even about to answer he waved his hands to.. Blew my chance on 22/10/2023
