Hey young doc It was a brief encounter. No more then a junior doctor would experience on his average day. You were working in Southmead Hospital in the vascular ward. You were involved in running vascular OCSE stations for us third year Bristol medical students. And we spoke for 2 minutes as we took a walk from the learning and development centre to F ward. And that was it. My life carried on. As a student, as a wife, as a mother, as a divorcee, as a single mother and now as a doctor. Im sure you now that the medical world is a high turnover world. We meet so many new people in the career path that we have chosen. Which one more or less from the dozens of colleagues we meet afresh in our respective rotations? Which makes me question why on earth such a transient encounter can stick for so long. I am throwing this pebble far out in the electronic world to show fate that I have done what I can do. Rationally my mind tells me that there is no way a guy like you would walk the grounds without a companion! But the part of me, the part that hopes, hopes otherwise. When a memory is so strong, it obviously has a value to it. The memory remains so despite a lot of life along the way. Here, this moment, I am taking this valued memory from the warm comforts of thought into the misty reality of uncertainty. Let fate determine the value of my memory of you.
