penobscot_mountain_runner Mount Desert Island Acadia National Park: It was three summers ago I think (or maybe 4?) I began running from Jordan Pond, followed the Asticou trail through the woods and began running up Penobscot Mountain. I saw someone running in front of me... It was you. We briefly said hello, and then i moved on to run up Sargent Mountain. You were also running up that mountain, and at the top I talked to you again, and met your parents. You asked if you could run back to Jordan Pond with me, and of course I said yes. We talked about sports, and our lives, and places we wanted to travel to one day. When we got back to the Pond House I had to jump on a bus, and ever since I have wondered what happened to you. I can't believe I didn't ask for your number... I'm sorry. Each summer I return to the place we met with the hopes of seeing you again. This is not about being romantic either... I genuinely wish you could be my friend, and that maybe we could go running together again someday. It seems unlikely these words will ever find you, but if they do I hope you'll want to be my friend too. You have been a mystery in my life for some time, and I hope someday we will meet again. If you don't want to I also understand. Just know you made my day that day three years ago. I hope you have an amazing life.
